Portsmouth Goes to the Dogs Fun Run

From 9:00AM to 11:00AM

April 18 (rain date April 19) Join us (with or without your dog) for the inaugural Portsmouth Dog Park Fun Run. Support a GOOD cause to establish the Town of Portsmouth's very own off-leash dog park located near the Melville School and Campground. The dog park is 100% community funded and designed to promote education, training and safe recreational activities that facilitate responsible dog ownership. There will be 5K and 1.5 Mile course options. All participants will receive a commemorative gift. Help raise money to establish the park while having some fun with your pup too! All dogs must be friendly and on-leash. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE BUILDING OF THE DOG PARK. Garden Help and Soil Testing

From 10:00AM to 12:00PM

Prescott Farm, 2009 West Main Rd., Middletown For the past ten years, the Prescott Farm gardens have been a URI Master Gardener project site. On Sunday mornings (weather dependent), the Master Gardeners offer free soil analysis and gardening information. In addition to texture and pH evaluation, the Master Gardeners will offer advice on any gardening, lawn care or other questions you may have.

Super Cool Rock and Mineral Auction

From 11:00AM to 5:00PM

The Rhode Island Mineral Hunters is holding their annual mineral auction on Saturday April 18th at 11:00 to view the lots. Bidding begins at 12:00 PM. This year’s auction will be at a new place, the Kelley-Gazzero VFW Post #2812, 4118 Plainfield Pike, Cranston, RI. We have great mineral specimens, jewelry, books, tools and other related items for auction as well as at least two beautiful professional glass display cases. This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase some high quality display cases. You can see a photos of them on our Facebook page at: RIMH Rhode Island Mineral Hunters and on our website www.rimh.us. Our silent auction box lots look like they will be the best ever, with lots of exciting bargains to be had. A list of minerals will be posted on our web site as well as photos of minerals that will be up for auction. This auction is free and open to the public and there is free parking.
