The free 2014 Excellence in Education conference, hosted by the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools, features work sessions on high priority education topics identified, developed and presented by Rhode Island teachers from charter, private and district schools. Work sessions will cover a wide range of topic areas for a mix of educators, from implementing technology in the classroom to techniques to support ELL students. Participants will have ample opportunities to share resources, tools, ideas and challenges throughout the event. The Mustard Seed Farm will be hosting a benefit concert, dinner and silent auction at 6:00pm on Saturday, March 29 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston. The evening features blues legend, JAMES MONTGOMERY. This event will help support their Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapy programs in Rhode Island. Our main goal is to offer a much needed service to the community we work within by providing therapy for veterans (Seeds of Courage program), special needs children/adults as well as education and provide health recreation for the public.
