Click Here For The Latest Local Closings and Delay Updates WADK's Talk Show Tradition continues.....Since its inception in the early '50's, WADK's Open Forum has served as a sounding board for locals to express their thoughts and opinions. The focus of nearly six decades of conversation has usually been local issues although national and worldwide topics have received their share of the attention. Led by such local talk show pioneers and innovators as Francis J.P. Sullivan and Bob Sullivan, the ongoing goal has been stimulating community involvement and maximizing community awareness. Today, thanks to a dedicated group of community-minded individuals, the Open Forum tradition continues. Every Monday through Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:00, WADK is proud to present a diversity of guest hosts that help maintain the "Open Forum" tradition. Talk-show veteran and former Middletown councilman Mike Kehew; local attorney and former Newport office-holder Andre D'Andrea; current Newport Mayor , Jeanne Napolitano; Evan Smith, President of the Newport County Convention and Visitors Bureau; and local musician/political pundit Kevin Sullivan lead the list of our recurring hosts. Local city and town officials as well as area state legislators also serve as occasional hosts. the Newport County Chamber of Commerce presents a monthly program called "Let's Talk Business" hosted by the Chamber's Jody Sullivan. On the second Wednesday each month, Newport School Committee chairperson Jo Eva Gaines hosts "Education Matters". Jo Eva is joined by a variety of guests to discuss timely educational issues affecting our local community WADK once again offers a spring season of local baseball and softball. We present live broadcasts of area high schools as well as Salve Regina University. The award-winning duo of Bobb Angel and Ralph Gizzi bring you the play-by-play. Bobb's a veteran of 40 years while Ralph has been his partner for the past 25 years. Click on the link below to see our broadcast schedule.
